Did not exactly have laser sighting, but an excellent product! Intended to use for a couple things, but immediately started using for MANY things. Adjusted my refrigerator settings, able to keep milk tea from boiling over, etc.
Lots of fun and very useful.

Very Practical and Easy to Use March 22, 2008
I use this heat sensor gun in my job as an insurance loss control rep. It works very accurately and the smaller size allows me to carry it in my shirt or pants pocket without the handle sticking out like some kind of weapon. That was the problem I had with the larger Raytek unit. It works great.

The reason to own this thermometer is speed. No time spent waiting, no time spent cleaning. It can take measuremens as quick as you can pull the trigger. It is solidly built and while I have owned it for a relatively short time it strikes me as a tool that will hold up quite well over time. The ergonomics are well sorted and it slide easily into and out of a trouser pocket.
What I didn't expect was that I would end up using it for so many tasks. I originally bought this to measure the temperature of feed formula I was feeding to young parrots where a few degrees too hot or too cool can be fatal to the young birds. I soon found myself using it around the kitchen, grill and smoker. The ability to take so many surface measurements so quickly and easily has given me a much clearer picture of how processes are working or not working. Want to see if a griddle is ready to cook on? A few quick clicks and you can scan the entire surface. Want to see if a charcoal grill is heating evenly or to check for temperature stratification in your smoker? Want to check for the source of cold air leakage in your house....?
Had I realized how much I would use this device I would have bought one long before now.
